Dong-ku is the happiest boy in the world living with his father, who takes the best care of his son. The father's only dream is to see his son graduate from his elementary school, but 11-year-old Dong-gu has an intelligence quotient (IQ) of 60. Because of his low IQ, Dong-gu is often picked on by his classmates and is on the verge of being sent to a special institute. The young boy is obsessed with a big kettle, his reason to go to school and to live and he is happiest when he pours drinking water from the kettle for his classmates. Filling the cups of classmates with a kettle is the only work Dong-gu can do in his school life. However, even this small connection with the outside world breaks, as one day a new water purifier replaces the kettle in his classroom. Disappointed by losing his only hope to survive in a regular school, he finds that every freshman in the junior baseball team is required to supply drinking water to other members with a kettle. Though he knows nothing about baseball, Dong-gu decides to join the team. The father finds out that the only way to keep him at school is for him to join the school's baseball team and begins training him as a baseball player.
